Read : Isaiah 26:1-15

Thoughts from: Marcy Conway

I love this verse! I have it highlighted and dated it in my Bible! We all need His peace desperately don’t we? I need His peace!

I’ve been through many storms of life. In his mercy He carried me in His peace through two major storms recently, a storm of cancer diagnosis and surgery in 2012 then in 2016 a storm of open heart surgery. His peace was truly “peace that passes all understanding”! I will never forget being carried in His peace!

This verse tells us that He keeps us in his perfect peace when we keep our mind stayed steadfast on Him and not the storm. When fear comes and it does, I don’t want to let it make a home in my mind. I choose to focus on Him. I choose to go to praise; I choose to remember like it says in verses 8 and 13 of this passage, remember His faithfulness, and remember His rescues! He has absolutely rescued me so many times and don’t want to forget those rescues.

He calls us to trust Him. I don’t know about you but He has to remind me. A few months ago the Lord was calling us to co- lead a connection group. I was so fearful of not being physically up to it as I still deal with ongoing health issues. But the Lord again said “Will you trust me?” I let go of my fear finally and said yes!  Praise God for His patience for me. Oh the blessings of that yes!  Our group has been a treasure to my heart.

My faith journey isn’t over yet. Yours isn’t either. We are called to keep our eyes stayed on Him not on our storms of life. He is able! He is the Faithful One! He will give us His perfect peace even in the midst of the storm! Yay God!
