Here are four of the Biblical lenses through which we’re looking during this season of COVID. These are truths that we must consider and hold in tension together as we seek to make plans, knowing that there just isn’t a perfect option.
Worship is important.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25
We should love our neighbors.
“‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:31
We should obey our governing authorities.
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.” Romans 12:1-2
We should maintain a good witness.
“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Colossians 4:5-6
