What is learning to love the master?
The Learning to Love the Master Retreat weekend is an intentional time to hold space for writing out your God Story. This is a contemplative practice of remembering and listening to God. You will reflect and consider where you have seen and heard God in your life, growing to recognize His work in you, His tender love, and what you have uniquely been given to offer others.
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.- 1 John 1:3 (NIV)
Our relationship with God is deepened as we come to experience and know His work in our lives both before and after trusting Jesus, putting our faith in our loving Heavenly Father.
We often have misconceptions about who God is. Our prayers are that through writing out your God story and revisiting some of those key moments where false beliefs were formed about the character of God, that the Holy Spirit will reframe those moments and replace them with the truth of who God is.
Independently, we write our story, focusing on where we have seen and heard God. We gradually compile this into a chronological history, writing our recollections and God's responses to us about His presence in each moment. Often God uses the most pain-filled moments in our fives to introduce Himself to us. If you get stuck, meditate on Psalm 139 as a starting point.
Collectively, in small groups, we come together and read aloud our writings, word for word, to one another. The focus of this time is to affirm where God was at work and encourage one ancther, learning to listen to the Holy Spirit, reflecting to one another where we have seen and heard God at work in each other's lives but not giving advice or otherwise processing these stories.
“This is a holy moment in which we are given the opportunity to gaze upon God in the lives of one another as we hear about God's presence in our lives. Remember that you are learning about God the Father, the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ as you are being invited to hear Him and see Him in each other's God Story.” - Patti

our vision
To be women encouraging one another to acknowledge, believe, and celebrate that we are beloved by God, by deepening our relationship with the living word of God, and by intentionally pursuing authentic community together.
our strategy
The way we do that is by having large group gatherings throughout the year to cultivate and grow relationships.
We also hold small group Bible studies in the fall and spring. Currently we offer three studies: early Monday morning, Tuesday evenings, and Thursday midmornings.
