CRU: Chris and Alyssa Ghubril
This summer, God brought 100% of our ministry funding, a new role for Chris, and the birth of our son Jude! We are praising God for each of these things.
After 10 years of ministry with Cru at the University of Arizona and in Southern Arizona, plus his 4 years as a student, Chris has been invited to take the role of West Coast field Director of People and Culture. It is so bittersweet for him to step away from the U of A, but he will now oversee the 26 campus teams on the West Coast, 6 international teams, and the West Coast People and Culture Team. This greater scope means Chris' vision and passion for the Great Commission has greater reach. The new team that he leads is responsible for sending missionaries domestically and internationally, handling crisis, leadership development, personal ministry training, training in cultural competency, theological development, administration, and allocation of Cru staff members.
Alyssa will report to the Southern Arizona Cru team after her maternity leave. This year's freshman class at the University of Arizona is the largest ever with over 8,700 first-year students! Campus life is beginning to look more "normal", with more students living on campus and more classes meeting in person. The Cru team has been hard at work meeting new students, sharing the gospel with them and coaching student leaders as they reach out to their friends and classmates. Our weekly worship service gathers students every Wednesday and small group Bible studies meet throughout the week. We are looking forward to fall retreat, where students are invited to a weekend getaway with opportunities to make friends and meet Jesus for the first time or grow in their relationship with Him.
We're so thankful for our church family and your prayers!
